"Seiberlich Trane Energy Services really delivered on our new Building Automation System. The system is more reliable, easier to navigate, and the expanded visibility allows our people to be more effective monitoring our facilities."
Exelon supports electric and natural gas delivery to approximately 10 million customers annually. A subset of regional operational centers in Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and the District of Columbia were facing a challenge of aging technology for the systems monitoring their facilities, including their critical data centers.
Exelon-PHI partnered with Seiberlich Trane Energy Services to modernize their building automation and monitoring systems to increase operational support and reliability across these facilities. Seiberlich Trane Energy Services removed antiquated systems, some over 25 years old, and installed a non-proprietary Building Automation System capable of future expansion and next generation products.
A big feature of the modernization was creating a single access point with a standardized interface for anyone authorized by the facilities teams to remotely monitor any of the 31 connected buildings across the regions. This allows for remote support between the regions with a familiar look and feel, regardless of location.
The project is expected to increase overall reliability for Exelon across all facets of their system including:
